PACERclose-up
Well I did it. Paid off all my credit cards and closed them out. It felt soooooooo good! It was like pulling teeth to close my Citi account. I had to tell them like 12 times to close the account. I still have to pay off my loan... but no more 12% bs. All four cards closed. Some of the accounts I had for years... Should have done this sooner!!

Yay!!! Congratulations! You may want to keep one of the cards running though, so you keep a current credit history running. It's stupid, but when you need to buy a house or a car in the future, having no cards sends up a red flag to lenders. Buy gas with it and pay it all off each month and your rating will be much, much better.

Congratulations Fox!

I'm also working towards that goal. 13.7% Is no fun. Nods keeping one card is a good idea, However, Insist they lower the credit amount on the card?.

Hugs, Have a nice day.

Congrats! :)

And yes, closing credit cards is like pulling teeth. They never want to let you go.

Nicely done!!
I paid down to 1, and only use the other ones for special needs--platinum for car rentals, as an example.
